Focus Points: Import to Database How to Edit a Database The Database Manager Tool provided in Glowie allows you to setup your own Database of information for ease of access. This guide will show you how to set up database on Glowie modules.

Importing to Database

Steps to Import to Database:

  1. On Glowie, download the Database Manager Tool

  2. Under Database Process inside the tool, select "Import Data"

  3. Under "Import To New/Existing Database Group" select your option for a new database group or adding to an existing group.

  4. Under "List to Import" select a text file with the list of information you are trying to import. Remember to format your list line by line.

  5. Name the List as applicable.

  6. Click OK and run the tool.

The tool will proceed to add your list to your database. The tool will compare existing groups and the information to ensure no duplicate data in entered. Once the tool finishes, be sure to close the tool and restart all modules to update the database.

Editing a Database

  • You can manually manipulate your database if you are comfortable doing so but I built this function specifically for users who would rather not mess with it.

This is how your database will appear in this section. Do not edit the files here unless you know what you’re doing

You can export or import your Groups in CSV format. Click the Convert button on the top left of the bot and use the dropdown menu to select whether to Import or Export data. The bot will tell you the format that it’ll come in, or how to set up your file to import Groups manually. Importing manually is once again optional, as it requires formatting in a specific format, which you can avoid completely by following the steps outlined in the previous section.

How to Back Up Your Database

  1. On the Module Interface, on the bottom left, select "Data"

  2. In the Database Manager select "Convert" at the top next to "File".

  3. Select "Backup"

You have successfully created an internal backup.
