π Transferring Database Across Different Devices
This guide is for users moving to a new computer and wanting to bring their existing Glowie database with them. Follow the steps below for a smooth transfer.
π§° What Youβll Need
A USB drive (32 GB recommended)
Access to both the old and new computer
Basic file navigation
π¦ Step-by-Step Guide
1. Backup Your Database
Open any module in Glowie on your old computer.
Click the Data button at the bottom left.
In the Database Manager, go to the Convert dropdown.
Click Backup.
Close all modules and restart your PC to finalize the backup.
π Locate Your Database Folder
Press
Windows
+S
and type:%appdata%
Click the AppData folder in the results.
Navigate into or up to AppData > Local.
Find the folder called:
BasDatabases
π If you donβt see βLocal,β click on the βAppDataβ breadcrumb to go up a directory.
πΎ Copy Your Database to USB
Plug in your USB drive.
Drag and drop the entire
BasDatabases
folder into the USB.Once it finishes, eject the USB safely.
π» Transfer to the New Computer
On your new device, follow the same steps to reach:
AppData > Local
If there's already a
BasDatabases
folder, delete or replace it.Paste the one from your USB into the same location.
ποΈ Optional: Restore a Backup File
If you backed up using the Convert > Backup option:
Copy the dated backup file from your USB.
Navigate to:
C:\Users\[YourName]\AppData\Local\BasDatabases\Database.31838\(DATE_BACKUPED)
Paste the file there.
Open any Glowie module β click Data β go to Convert β click Restore.

π§© Optional: Restore by Database Tab
You can now Backup or Restore your entire database with one click.
Options Available:
Automatic Backups: Enable/disable regular backups.
Backup Interval: Choose how often it auto-saves (default: 7 days).
Auto-Clear Backups: Delete old backups after a set number.
Backup Database: Save a snapshot of your current database.
Restore Database: Revert to a previous backup instantly.
π Use Case: If you're moving Database to a new device or reinstalling, use the Backup Database
option on your original machine, then Restore Database
after setting up on your new environment.
βοΈ Cloud Transfer Option (OneDrive)
You can also use OneDrive (or any cloud service) to move your database:
Sign in to the same Microsoft account on both devices.
Upload your
BasDatabases
folder to OneDrive on your old computer.Download it from OneDrive on your new computer and place it in the correct
AppData > Local
location.
β οΈ Free OneDrive accounts only include 5 GB of storage, which may not be enough.

Prefer Google Drive? Here's how:
On your old computer, open your browser and go to https://drive.google.com
Drag and drop the entire
BasDatabases
folder into your Google Drive.Wait for it to upload completely.
On your new computer, log into the same Google account and download the folder.
Move the downloaded folder to:
C:\Users\[YourName]\AppData\Local\
If prompted, replace the existing
BasDatabases
folder (or delete it beforehand).

Final Notes
Works fine from Windows 10 β 11, or Windows 11 β 10.
Restart Glowie after copying the files.
Donβt open modules while transferring to avoid any data conflicts.
